Free website security check
Check your site's blocklist reputation and exposed files, free
Good news first: most sites we check are not flagged as malicious. Our free website malware check looks at your site from the outside, the same way a search engine or a customer would, and tells you in about 10 seconds whether it is flagged on any malware or spam blocklists, plus whether risky files are left exposed.
Just enter your web address and you get a clear A to E grade, with every issue explained in plain English. No account needed, nothing to install, and it is completely free. The scan is non-intrusive, so it only reads what is already public. It does not touch or change your site.
Before we go further, one honest point that matters: this is a reputation and exposure check, not a deep file scan. We will explain exactly what that means below, so you know what you are getting and what you are not.
What our website malware check actually does
Our checker runs around 35 to 40 checks across about a dozen areas, all from the public side of your website. For malware specifically, it focuses on two honest, useful things.
- Reputation and blocklists: we check whether your site is flagged by Google Safe Browsing and well-known malware and spam blocklists. If your site has been flagged, you will know straight away.
- Exposed files and folders: we look for config files, .env files, .git folders, backups and open directory listings that are reachable publicly. These are the kinds of files attackers hunt for, and leaving them exposed is a common way sites get compromised.
What it does not do (and who can help if you need more)
We think a security tool should be straight with you, so here is the honest line on the limits.
This free scan does not log into your site and read your server's files, so it cannot scan those files for malware or remove an infection. It checks your public reputation and your exposed files, not the code sitting on your server.
It also does not run an active attack against your site. There is no penetration testing, no SQL injection or cross-site scripting attempts, no brute force and no DDoS. It does not log in to test your application, and it does not check every installed WordPress plugin against a vulnerability database.
If you think your site is already infected, or you want a full penetration test or a proper clean-up, the free scan is the wrong tool for that job. For that, the Expect Best team can help. There is no obligation, and the scan stays free either way.
The wider security picture we check
A malware flag is rarely the whole story. Often a site gets compromised because of a smaller issue that was easy to miss. While we are looking, we also report on the things that keep your site healthy and harder to attack.
- Secure connection: HTTPS, plus a valid, trusted SSL certificate and how soon it expires.
- Security headers: HSTS, Content-Security-Policy, X-Frame-Options (clickjacking protection) and friends.
- WordPress basics: whether your core version is current and whether admin usernames are exposed.
- Email spoofing protection: SPF, DMARC, DKIM, BIMI and MTA-STS, so scammers find it harder to impersonate you.
- Outdated software: old jQuery, PHP or components with known issues.
- Good housekeeping: security.txt and Subresource Integrity on third-party scripts.

Plain-English A to E grade in about 10 seconds. No account needed to see it.
Free monthly monitoring, no account needed
A website is not a fixed thing. A plugin update, an expired certificate or a fresh blocklisting can change your security overnight, and most owners never notice until a customer does.
That is why you can turn on free monthly monitoring. We re-check your site each month and email you only if your grade changes, so you are not buried in alerts. It is free, there is no account to set up, and you can cancel any time.
You stay in control. We never change anything on your site. We just keep an eye on the public picture and let you know if something needs your attention.
Why run the free check today
It takes about 10 seconds, it is free, and it is non-intrusive, so there is genuinely no downside to looking. If your site is clean and well configured, you get the reassurance of seeing it in writing. If something needs attention, you find out in plain English before it becomes a problem.
Enter your web address to run your free website malware check now. No account, no obligation, and if you ever want a hand fixing something, that part is optional too.
